Inside and outside bets on roulette

Apuestas internas y externas en la ruleta Inside and outside bets on roulette

Inside and outside bets on roulette. Roulette is one of the most popular games in physical or online casinos. Just guess the number the ball will land on. For ordinary mortals it is complex to anticipate and guess the number in which the ball will fall, but it was not for some time for the Pelayo family. In today’s article, we are going to focus on breaking down and explaining step by step the difference between inside or outside bets on roulette. Any player can make their bet independently or by making different inside and outside bets on roulette combinations.

Inside and outside bets on roulette

Inside bets

First of all, about Inside and outside bets on roulette, we are talking about Inside bets. This kind of bets are undoubtedly the most profitable for the player, but also the ones that represent the highest risk. The payout paid is infinitely higher than in outside bets. Sometimes I have heard it said that it is not advisable to opt for this type of betting, since the risk is very high and the probability of success is low.

In the case of opting for insdie bets, the player places his bet on a single number or a combination of up to a maximum of six adjacent numbers. Each internal bet has its methodology and different type of payment.

Types inside bets

Straigh up

It is a bet on a single number. You can bet on more than one number. The chip is placed in the center of the box of the chosen number. The pay per match is 35 to 1. In French it is called en plein.

Split

The bet is made by placing the chip on two adjacent numbers. The tile can be placed vertically or horizontally. You pay 17 to 1. In French it is called cheval.

Street

The chip must be placed on the same horizontal line on the roulette table, covering three consecutive numbers. You pay 11 to 1 per hit. In French it is known as a transversal stake.

Corner

Four numbers are covered in this type of betting. The chip is placed at the midpoint of the four numbers. The payment is 8 to 1 per hit. In French it is called Carré.

Five

Five bet is valid in American roulette. Bet covers 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. The chips are placed at the corner of 0 and 1 or at the corner of 00 and 3. You pay 5 to 1.

As we said earlier, inside bets are less likely and have a higher payout. From Secret Casino Tips we advise you that in the case of opting for internal bets, also make an external bet. In this way you can better offset the risk.

Outside bets

To finish Inside and outside bets on roulette we are going to talk about outside bets. Outside bets on roulette are less risky and the odds of hitting are much higher than inside bets. However, the payout is significantly lower. When you make an external bet you are betting on a larger number of numbers.

These types of bets are recommended for beginner or inexperienced players or for those players who want a moderate strategy, with less risk.

Types outside bets

Red & black

There are adjacent black or red squares on the roulette tables. The player decides to place his bet on a single color. In the roulette of the 36 numbers, 18 are black and another 18 are red. The odds of hitting are almost 50%. Remember that in European roulette there are 37 numbers and in American 38. You pay 1 to 1.

Even & odd

The player decides to make his odd or even bet, thus betting 18 of the 36 numbers that make up the roulette. Remembering that 0 or double 0 are not considered even or odd, is a different bet. Odds of success are high, however payout is low, 1 to 1.

Low/ high

Roulette numbers are divided into two blocks, high and low. Low numbers are considered to be between 1 and 18. For their part, high numbers are those between 19 and 36. There is a specific box for high or low bets. In this case you also pay 1 to 1.

Dozen

Roulette has 36 numbers plus 0 or double 0. 36 numbers are divided into three dozen. The first group is from 1 to 12, the second from 13 to 24 and finally from 25 to 36. On the table there are three specific boxes for dozen bets. The payment is 2 to 1 per hit.

Column

Covers all the numbers in one of the three columns. Whenever a column bet is made, 12 numbers out of 36 are being bet. At the bottom of the table is the box for that bet. Each row houses three consecutive numbers (first column, 1-2-3, second column 4-5-6, and the third, 7-8-9, and so on up to 36).

As we have previously commented, external bets are less risky and the probabilities of success are greater than in internal ones. However, the hit payout is much lower.
